Barcelo Bilbao Nervion Hotel, Bilbao

My stay at the hotel was delightful. The rooms were neat and clean, tucked away at the back of the building, providing a serene retreat upon our arrival. The service was exceptional, with the staff being extremely helpful, making our stay truly special. The location was perfect, close to the center yet peacefully situated by the river. Although the dining was good, it was slightly pricey. Overall, a great value for money experience.

The hotel has its charms, with spacious rooms featuring ample tables which might lack a cozy feel but are practical for busy dining times. The separate bathroom with a lockable entrance adds a touch of privacy, though not all rooms offer this feature. On the downside, the open sink area in most rooms could be improved for more convenience.

The hotel had excellent rooms with a large comfy bed, plenty of pillow choices, good showers, and even included a kettle and tea making equipment, which is unusual for European hotels. However, the view from the room overlooked the trashy wall of the next building and the inner courtyard was covered in litter. The location was brilliant, centrally located between the Guggenheim Museum and the Old Town, making it safe to explore day or night. The service was a mix of English-speaking helpful staff with some inconvenience, as they seemed indifferent and not accommodating. The dining experience was impressive with a gluten-free corner but lacked self-service food options.
